New census data shows growth in Indigenous population

  • New census data reveals the Indigenous population in Canada grew almost twice as fast as the non-Indigenous population between 2016 and 2021, surpassing the one million mark for the first time. It also shows more Indigenous people are learning an Indigenous language.
